  • Prime Minister’s Innovation Learning Program – DHRUV – will begin on 10 October 2019 at ISRO, Bengaluru and will conclude on 24th of this month at IIT, Delhi. Sixty talented students from science, mathematics and performing arts have been selected for the program.
  • All India Institute of Medical Sciences has launched the first website and mobile application “eDantSeva” on oral health awareness in collaboration with Union Ministry of Health. The digital platform includes the National Home Health Program and a comprehensive list of all dental facilities and colleges, information, education and communication (IEC) content. It also has a feature called ‘Symptom Checker’. This website also provides satellite image for GPRS route and convenience for easy access of people.
  • Indian Farrata runner Nirmala Sharon has withdrawn her two Asian Championship titles with the Athletics Integrated Unit (AIU) banned for four years in a doping case.
  • Kerala’s short film “Spirit of Kerala” won the People’s Choice Award in the recently concluded My Road Reel Film Competition. The film won the honor by beating 1,680 entries.
  • India has received the first Rafale fighter jet “RB-001” for the Indian Air Force (IAF) in France. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh received 1 Rafale fighter jet aircraft in the production unit of Dassault Aviation in France.
  • Antonio Costa has been re-elected as Prime Minister of Portugal after winning the general election.
  • The World Economic Forum has released the Global Competitiveness Index Report. In total, 103 indicators have been distributed over the 12 pillars on which the countries’ performance was evaluated. According to the report released by WEF, India has reached 68th position on an annual global competitiveness index, in which Singapore topped.
  • The government has extended the requirement of Aadhaar seeding by 30 November to receive income support of Rs 6,000 per year under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
